1. Joys Life Fathers and Sons stamp set2. Versa Fine Ink in Onyx Black
3. Some old border stamp set
This is the last of the big blog blitz of December 2013. I went back to the red/black/white color combination again. It’s just a real “go to” combination for me. I find the most inspiration from it.
This is super simple. This is super clean. All those strips of paper were scraps from previous projects.
I have one more card to show and then I will start showing some of the Christmas crafts I’ve been working on. If you want a sneak peek, make sure to follow me on Facebook, CutieQ Cards n Crafts.
1. Lawn Fawn’s “A Birdie Told Me” Stamp Set
2. Joys Life “Father and Sons” Stamp Set
3. Versafine Ink in Onyx Black
I love this card. It’s simple but so bright and cheery!
I fussy cut the little bird after stamping it onto yellow cardstock. Then I made strips of the same yellow cardstock to create the little paper trim. I added stitch lines with a black pen to make give it extra interest.
I’m still loving the color combination of yellow and blue.. it’s quickly turning into a favorite!
1. 1 inch circle punch
2. Joys Life “Father’s and Sons” Stamp set
3. Versa Fine Ink “Onyx Black”
Here’s a super simple, yet super fun looking card. I punched a bunch of circles using my 1 inch circle punch and I strategically placed them on the blue background to look like polka dots.
Add a black strip of scrap cardstock to simulate a ribbon, and stamp the sentiment, and done! Super easy, super fun, and super reproducible!
Last week was a loooong week. A sick toddler, a sick me… it just was a hard week. Because of that, I totally neglected blogging, both craft and personal. But I’m back! Both toddler and I are getting better and now we are hustling to get all the Christmas shopping and crafting done!
Because I didn’t blog last week, I promised my Facebook followers that I was going to blog every day this week.. Monday-Friday.
Here we go!
Ideally, I’d love to start posting some Christmas things, but since I’ve been out of commission for the past few weeks, I have to just continue with some of those fun birthday cards I made for my little birthday card challenge.
I’ve had the “Peachy Keen Clear Stamp Face Assortment Basic Paper Doll” forever. I used it with my Cricut “Everyday Paper Dolls” cartridge. It help make the cutest paper dolls! However, I haven’t used my Cricut in forever, I didn’t know how to use this stamp set again!
I have tons of white paper scraps around, so I punched some 1in circles, and stamped so fun faces on them!
I love the blue and yellow color combination. It’s so fun and fresh!
The sentiment is handwritten with my Versamark Watermark pen, then heat embossed it with some of the Judikins embossing powder.
This was a super simple card that gave an old stamp set a new life!
Remember, there will be a new blog post everyday this week, so come back tomorrow for more!
Continuing on with my card challenge, I decided to change up the color palette for a while.
I found a yellow piece of scrap cardstock and rolled with it!
Here is card #8!
1. Joys Life “Father’s and Sons” Stamp set
2. Versamark Ink
3. Judikins White embossing powder
The squares came from cutting out a bunch of white square frames for a previous card project. I have TONS of these squares and I just can’t justify throwing them away. You seen these squares before. You’ve seen them on this scrapbook layout.
I heat embossed the “Happy Birthday” sentiment to make sure that the sentiment stands out.
I really like the brightness of this card. It’s super happy and super fun.
Here’s the last card of the first red, black and white mini-series. I say “first” because after I finished this series, I went to blues and yellows, and then went back to red, black and white…
Here’s card #4
1. Sakura Gelly Pen in white
2. Versa Chalk ink in white
3. Amy Tangerine’s Ready Set Go “Hello there” stamp set.
4. Sweet Stamp Shop “Happy Hour” Stamp Set
5. Versa Fine Ink in Onyx Black
I made the border around the card with my white gel pen. I freehand drew the border and loved the look of it.
I love Sweet Stamp Shop’s “Happy Hour” stamp set. All the cute little stars and circles and dots really help set a fun tone to any card! I used a white chalk ink to stamp them onto the red cardstock. I was expecting a much more prominent white stamping of the image, but the ink didn’t really give me that impression. It’s totally ok. In the end, I was super happy the results.
So, this leaves me at card #7 for my personal card challenge.
I hope you enjoyed these cards! I really enjoyed making them!
Here is the third card in my little mini-series of red, black and white cards.
Have I told you how much I love this color combination?
Have I mentioned that these cards are all made with scraps? The only fresh pieces of paper I am using are the card bases.. everything else has been found in the scrap bin..
Without further ado.. here’s card #3..
1. American Crafts Bakers Twine
2. Lily Bee Designs “Persnickety” stamp set.
3. Lawn Fawn’s “A Birdie Told Me” stamp set.
4. Lawn Fawn’s “Interlocking Backgrounds” stamp set
5. Amy Tangerine’s “Ready, Set, Go” stamp set
6. Versa Fine Ink in “Black Onyx”
7. Stampin’ Up red ink
8. Foam pop up adhesive
I used red ink from Stampin’ Up on the red cardstock to add a cool tone-on-tone look for the background. It’s subtle, but present. I like it.
I really enjoyed making this card because it just looks totally clean and fun and cute.
There’s one more card in this little mini-series. I can’t wait to show you the last one!
